That tiny social media disclaimer — “AI info” or “created with AI” — can change how a follower views your post.
To be fair, AI has its place, and not every post is fully AI-generated. Sometimes a photo needs to be touched up, a face blurred for privacy or an object in the background removed. Sometimes you just need a little help organizing your thoughts in the caption.
But sometimes, it’s very obvious someone typed two sentences into ChatGPT and copied the raw result. Followers may not even read the caption because they’re assuming there isn’t genuine human passion behind it.
In this AI age, followers are inundated with AI-generated content, and they’re craving authenticity.
Author Mark Victor Hansen once said, “People don’t buy with their head but with their heart. The heart is closer to the wallet than the head.”
This principle applies to donors as well. You’re not trying to manipulate your donors or sell them something. You’re trying to show them something they care about and invite them into an opportunity. And without the human element in your content to establish trust, they could miss your message entirely.

When your to-do list is three pages long, spending an hour to film and edit a 30-second video just doesn’t seem like a good use of time. So you plug some details into AI and hope for the best!
However, social media shouldn’t just be a bulletin board for your programs. It should be a window your donor can look through to see how their support could change lives!
Making that shift sounds time-consuming, but it comes down to small, intentional steps you can take each week.
Ask yourself what’s doable for you. Can you…
Capture short stories: Film yourself or a staff member sharing a recent impact story.
Thank partners in real time: Snap photos of donors or volunteers and post a genuine thank you.
Highlight real voices: Snap a photo and gather a quote or record a short video from volunteers or clients.
Start small, and remain intentional. You know why your organization is needed. These purposeful steps help you show your current and future supporters why their support matters.

You don’t have to be an “influencer” to influence your community!
If being in front of the camera is the last thing you want to do today:
Lean on the people around you: Ask other staff or volunteers or partners if they’re comfortable sharing a short message!
Focus on the action: Film an “unboxing” of donations or document a volunteer service day.
Incorporate b-roll: Film while you walk outside or inside your building or in a recognizable downtown area. Then overlay simple text on top to encourage followers to open your caption.
The Bottom Line:
AI can help you stay organized or fight writer’s block, but it can’t replace human connection. When you replace automated posts with real faces and moments, you help your followers see you’re more than just a collection of programs. You’re a group of people passionate about helping other people!
